The COIL R1 is certainly one of the most popular models in our assortment. This is proven not least by the various special editions that have been created in recent years with our cooperation partners worldwide. One reason for the popularity of the COIL R1 is certainly its shape. The wedge-shaped forefoot area is razor sharp and an absolute treat for the eye. The second reason for its popularity is certainly the multi-layer construction of the upper, which offers great design options in terms of color and material.
In this COIL R1 OG, several different sized panels of soft suede have been placed on a mesh base. A third material comes into play at the heel tab. There we used a nice reflective 3M material. It's color coordinated with the inner lining. In the heel area, just above the midsole, sits a stabilizer that wraps around the entire heel. This technology was designed to give the foot perfect lateral stability - which was essential for a running silhouette like this back in the 1980s.
The patented DYNACOIL cushioning system in the midsole and the Ortholite insole make the COIL R1 OG super comfortable to wear. An abrasion-resistant rubber outsole ensures a good grip and pleasant durability.
COIL R1 OG POP Sustainability features: The leather comes from LWG silver-certified tanneries, the textile parts of the upper are made from 100% recycled polyester, as are the lining, insole and laces. The removable footbed is made from 95% recycled polyester and 30% of the rubber on the outsole is recycled.
